This is my response to the Ragtag Daily Prompt of 1 July 2018 — Scale.
A Mountain Beard Orchid – kind of small.

Centuries in the making – kind of big.
Stravinsky versus Zucchini – kind of fun.

Where did you see the orchid? These flowers are more rare usually from my experience.

It is an Australian native orchid, mostly in temperate zones of eastern Australia.

The Mountain Beard orchid looks like an old man of the forest.

I love the second photo, looking like you guys (am I right?) are given warm yet big hug by the gigantic tree.

My boys went on a road trip without me. I stayed home to look after the dogs. But I’m going on another road trip soon.
Normally we are the tree huggers, but it is the reverse this time around. 🙂

We used to live in a part of France where there were 60 different kinds of orchid to be discovered. We didn’t see them all of course, but this would have been a very surprise discovery if it’s Australian. What a lovely specimen.

Thank you, Margaret. Perhaps there are similar orchids in France. It wouldn’t surprise me. 🙂

Nor me. I wasn’t an expert so didn’t get to grips with them all.
