This has been an unexpected, surprising and very welcome post just opened . . . personal photos away from the usual touristy ones . . . but > I somehow feel I know more about the area from you – thank you! Quite frankly, had read about the Arboretum for ages . . . never really knew how it looked . . . hope you do not mind if I repost the whole to a few friends tomorrow . . .
Of course, feel free to re-post. The Arboretum is much grown since then with those photos taken in 2019 before the bush fires. A few good years of rain have seen a real change.
Tracy, you are a wonderful tour guide. When I was younger, probably grammar school, I had a pen pal in Australia–West Ryde, New South Wales. She would send me post cards and all sorts of little gifts from Australia. And postage was huge back then! Your country has always had a special place in my heart.
An international pen friend was pretty special in those days, Lois. Your friend would have had lots of adventures living so close to the Parramatta River and with bushland not too far away. It is very metropolitan now. I have unfortunately fallen out of love with my city. The local government is broke and selling off rural lands is the only way it can sustain itself. 🙁
