Hello! I think I have excelled myself in the length of time between posts. However, I could not let another day pass without celebrating the old boy’s recent birthday.
I’m not referring to my True Love, but to our youngest member of the household, Fynnie Puss. Fynnie Puss is not actually a cat, but a Finnish Spitz, so that makes him rather like a cat in nature. He loves his couch, especially in winter.
The big news is that he has turned 10. Can you believe it? Here is a quick snap of him.

Not a bad photo, eh? The other big news is that I’ve got a new camera and I feel so relieved. I have barely posted a single photo taken with my other fancy new camera and that is because it is sooooo heavy. I can barely hold it for more than a few seconds. Most of the images are blurry because of my tremor so I have faced the reality that it isn’t right for me. I’ve gone back to Micro FourThirds and although I’ve only taken about 20 photos in total, I think this new camera will be much better for me.
So the moral of this story is that time passes, even for Fynnie, and bigger is not always better.
I hope you are all well, especially my friends on the other side of the world living in an inferno. In my part of Australia, Canberra, your discomfort (or hell?) means that winter has finally arrived. It is bliss, at least for a month or two before our hot weather arrives again.
Take care, everyone.
Kind Regards.
Tracy.
Flynn is a handsome boy. And that color-coordinated blanket….perfect. Lovely photo.
A lighter camera makes all the difference, doesn’t it?
Enjoy your winter, Tracy, however short it may be.

It does make all the difference. I can’t tell my stories without a camera to capture the mood. Stay cool, Lois.

Hi Fynnie — Bear here. I’m 11 so hang in there little buddy and tell your human you’re just a youthful wight. Your pal, Polar Bear Yeti T. Dog

Thank you, Bear. My human can tell I am at the height of my vigour because I still hump Makea every night after dinner.

Teddy humps me. It’s absurd and ludicrous. Your pal, PBYTD

He is very handsome. In fact he knows that he is the best looking one in the house. 🙂
I will do my best.

Every one needs a colour coordinated dog and household furnishings Tracy. Glad you are surviving the brutality that a Canberra winter brings. It’s starting to get cold here at nights mainly so mornings are hard to take. My hands are so cold.
Glad you dropped in and are ok 😀

I don’t get up early, Brian, so I am perhaps not feeling the cold as much as workers and early risers. I hate gloves so I am loathe to recommend them to you. Already starting to dry out here. Not looking forward to hotter weather.

It’s early waking for me. Always have been a morning person. Trouble is I am also a night person 🙄
I have a nice mohair pair but find typing difficult. I haven’t had rain for all this month, it’s all been on the coast

I hope you get a dose of rain before it warms up to fill up your dam.

Doesn’t look like it according to the long range forecast

The colour brings out the best of the old boy. Yes, you have outdone yourself with the time between posting news. Good to hear about the new camera, and I have no issue with strength; I find those bigger cameras too heavy and clunky.

That’s true, Suzanne. I have missed a lot of news? How are you?

Flynn is obviously in control, loves the color coordinated blanket, and is grateful that mom Tracy is once again to snap photos of him in his full glory!
Nice to hear from you again, Tracy!

He is in control, Lou, which is actually a bit of a problem. He won’t be suitable for another family if we drop off our perch. But we have his measure and he ours. We love him, so does Makea.

Thanks, Liz. Don’t let Fynn’s looks deceive you. He is the biggest whinger I’ve ever come across.

Fynnie thanks you, Anne. I sympathise. Summer is too hot to do anything these days.

I walk my dog just at sun up otherwise it’s too hot. We have until noon or 1 p.m. before it’s time to stay indoors.

You have another dog? That will keep you busy.

Yes, we have another dog. She’s probably almost 8 years, and was rehomed when someone couldn’t keep her any more. We really didn’t know much about her except that she needed a home–and we needed another dog. She’s almost the opposite of Gem.

Lovely shot of Fynn, Tracy.
(and yes, those fires sound horrific over in Europe. My Canadian friend said, while the wildfires are not close to her in Ontario, the smoke in the air over their town has made it almost impossible to go outdoors).

I see all the smoke and flames and think there has to be long term effects on both people’s mental and physical health.
