My Eyes Adore You

WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge  —  All-Time Favorites

Here is my contribution to the last ever WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge.  I never thought I would come to love this Challenge so much.  Thank you to WordPress for hosting this challenge which has given me such creative inspiration since last October.

It goes without saying that I adore my family the most.  But beyond my family, there are a couple of true loves that I would like to share with you to end this journey. Read more

Crafty People Do The Twist

WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge  —  Twisted

Since the Weekly Photo Challenge is to be discontinued, I thought I should put in an entry this week.  I had no idea when starting my blog that I would enjoy the WordPress Weekly Challenge so much.  I will miss it, but I will just have to be brave and jump into some of the other photo challenges every now and then.  In the meantime, here is my response to the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge theme of ‘Twisted’.  For this challenge, I found inspiration in craft. Change of Seasons

Autumn has finally arrived.  April was our hottest April on record at 4.9C above the April average, beating April 2017’s record as the hottest April on record.  To date, May has been relatively mild, except for one day where it was the coldest May day since the mid ’70s.  Read more

Running Up That Hill

WordPress Daily Prompt  —  Guilty

This post is for Martha, who is currently recovering from hip surgery.  Her recovery is progressing satisfactorily but slowly.  Martha misses her dogs who are being boarded at the moment.  The trouble is when you are recovering from illness, you have a lot of time to think.  This can be good but it can also be a bit tedious, when activity is required to clear the head and ease the mind. Collective Narcissism

WordPress Daily Prompt  —  Narcissism

There are some of us who avoid the news, and some who, for many reasons, have restricted access to news.  I live in a country where the news is very parochial and sometimes it seems that we are caught up in a kind of collective narcissism.    Read more

Going With The Flow

WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge  —  Liquid

The theme for the WordPress Weekly Challenge theme is “liquid”.  In responding to the Challenge, my main criterion was that the focus of the photo should be on the water/liquid rather than on the other elements within the photo.  I have chosen four very different photos taken by various members of my family, that I think meet this criterion.  I also wanted to post the photos largely unedited.  What do you think is the main focus of each of the photos? All Sunshine and No Rain Makes A Desert

The delightful Pauline from Living in Paradise has invited me to take part in a 3-day Quote Challenge.  I’ve made it to Day 3.  Yay!  You can see my Day 1 quote post here and my Day 2 quote post here.  Instead of a final quote, I am going to finish off with a proverb.  You know what it is already, because I have used it as the title of this post:

“All sunshine and no rain makes a desert.”
From an Arab Proverb

Gastronomes Celebrate – Quote #2

This is my response to the 3-Day Quote Challenge (Day 2) and also to the WordPress Daily Prompt  —  Bubble.

The delightful Pauline from Living in Paradise has invited me to take part in a 3-day Quote Challenge.  I am up to Day 2 (phew).  You can see my Day 1 quote post here.  Once again, thanks to Pauline for including me in this challenge.  I’m starting to get the hang of it (ie. having way too much fun).  So join me in a gastronomic celebration and share the love around.  Without further ado, here is the second quote:

The 3-Day Quote Challenge: #1

The lovely Pauline from Living in Paradise has invited me to take part in a 3-day Quote Challenge.  She has invited me to do this because of my self-confessed untidy mind and interesting viewpoints.  I think this is code for being a renegade.  As I mentioned to Pauline when she invited me to take part, I can barely remember the days of the week let alone any meaningful quotes.  I don’t normally do challenges, but this is only three days, and well, how hard can it be to come up with one quote per day?  So, I am going to have fun trying – that is, remembering the days of the weeks, as well coming up with some quotes.  Thank you, Pauline, for including me.
