WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge – Out of This World
If we could visit another society in another galaxy, what would their buildings look like? Perhaps they might look like one of my favourite buildings, the Shine Dome, which houses the Australian Academy of Science. The Shine Dome, which was completed in 1959, was constructed when the space race was just starting to get serious. It is an exceptional building. I’m grateful for the assistance of my true love who kindly took these photos for me. I subsequently applied some filters to them to achieve the otherworldly special effects.
For more information on the Shine Dome, see here.
Thank you for visiting.
I have to say that is one thing we lack here – interesting archectitecture. Everything is squares and rectangles. Interesting photos!

Interesting buildings are definitely the exception here. But it is heritage-listed so hopefully it will be protected.

Many years ago, this building was known, in typical Australian humour, as the pregnant oyster!

Really! I didn’t know that, so maybe it is not called that anymore. 🙂

Very Sci-Fi like. As if it were a creature guarding something underneath!

I hadn’t thought of that, Robert. You are right. Maybe it’s babies! 🙂
