A photo and a poem about grass. Somehow it got a bit dark but it’s no metaphor.
En Garde
If I drive my finger onto your thorns,
would I fall asleep,
supine forevermore?
Or would I draw bonded blood in awe?
Nurse my pain in living thrall, paying my
dues to your magnificence.

Possibly the spectacular Lomandra longifolia, but I’m only guessing.
Kind Regards
Tracy.
My goodness Tracy, I like this. But optimistic it ain’t. Keep writing!

Thanks, Margaret. Optimism is not really my thing. 🙂

The kind of beauty we’ll only notice if we take the time to look closer!

It had such beautiful flowers, Dries. The bees loved it.

Very punny, Brian, but no. 🤣

A beauty for sure, Tracy, but those do look like toothpicks sticking out. Very, very sharp toothpicks.

Yes. The path was overgrown so I was very careful, Lois.

Tracy, what a terrific “what if” poem. There it sits, ready to do damage to whomever touches it. We can just let our minds run with that! Great photo too!

Thank you, Anne. It was covering the path so it got my attention. I stepped gingerly around it.

Rather spectacular photo. You really captured the beauty of that grass. The poem is rather dark, but there is something about it that had me reading it several times.

Thanks, Heather. I figured I should write something to the point. 😉

I like it, Tracy! We must have proper respect for nature, thorns and all!

I agree, Lisa. The thorns are there for a reason. 🙂

I loved your poem, Tracy!! Sometimes the truth is dark, but that’s okay!

Thank you, Ann. I wasn’t very original, borrowing from Sleeping Beauty but I had fun. 🙂
