Welcome to my regular Friday song/tune day, ladies and gentlemen, where I pick a piece of music that reflects my mood or the times, to share with you. How about a poem first?
Under Grey Skies
Rejection leaves a bitter taste that words of honey cannot erase.
Feed the dogs from your plate, perfecting the tricks of your trade
by invitation and with impunity.
Lies create their own reality. Propaganda wars, cleansing
by invitation and with impunity.
Mounted on a funeral pyre, your cruelty takes breath away;
shattered dreams buried under the rubble
of grotesque ambition and your own inadequacy.
The music that I’ve chosen today is meant to be a song of hope, but it is hard to imagine a peaceful resolution to the current war. Still, it is an offering. Do with it what you will. Amanda Forsythe and Thomas Cooley perform Handel’s As Steals The Morn.
Take care, everyone.
Kind Regards.
Tracy.
