Welcome to my regular Friday song/tune day, ladies and gentlemen, where I pick a piece of music that reflects my mood or the times, to share with you.
You’ll need a while to listen to this one as I’ve chosen a video of the whole symphony.
Kind Regards.
Tracy.

Thank you ! I have oft found Shostakovich too ‘difficult’ to listen to – not so today in the tragic here-and-now. . . No words needed . . . his music and his and our history speak for themselves . . .

I feel much the same about Shostakovich too, Eha.
I’ve also heard far too many excuses made for the murdering.

I adore Shostakovich – I don’t think I’ve listened through this symphony though … listening now. I also love watching conductors – Bernard Haitink is so animated & entertaining!

I think I’ve seen this one performed by the Canberra Symphony Orchestra. Possibly It could have been the 10th instead. In any case, it was brilliant.
