WordPress Daily Prompt — Guilty
This post is for Martha, who is currently recovering from hip surgery. Her recovery is progressing satisfactorily but slowly. Martha misses her dogs who are being boarded at the moment. The trouble is when you are recovering from illness, you have a lot of time to think. This can be good but it can also be a bit tedious, when activity is required to clear the head and ease the mind.
I thank Martha for the gift of Walt Whitman’s words:
“That you are here—that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse. “
I like these words. But today, I am going to contribute no verse. Today, I am going to do no housework (the washing machine has broken down and the new one arrives tomorrow). Today, I am going to go outside and enjoy this glorious Autumn day and continue work on my mosaic project.
I am free. I can contribute. Should I feel guilty if I don’t contribute when I have the ability to do so? Hmmm, I think it is just as important to do all you need to do to stay healthy, so that you can contribute to the greater good another day.
Comments welcome. Can’t find the Comments Section? Keep scrolling.
❤ I have tears in my eyes. Thank you. <3.

So very important to look after number one. After all if you don’t and you get sick then you will be some one else’s burden. Creative activity is good for the soul and stress levels. Enjoy your mosaicing….

I had a lovely couple of hours in the sun before it got too cold for my glue. 🙂

Tracy–you are such a great person to post this for Martha. Yeah, she needs a little pick me up. This is wonderful.

Thank you, Loisajay. I don’t know quite what to say. It just seemed the thing to do for a fellow blogger friend. Our Martha is a bit special. At least, I think she is.
