Home and community.
Ngunnawal country.
It serves us well.
If you will.
Kookaburra rings in a new day.
Kind Regards.

Are you pleased with the election?

It went better than I expected, Lois. I hope that all sides can come together to change how politics has been done in this country for many years.

Happy now, Tracy? Could you work similar positive results here in the UK please?

I am hopeful, Margaret. Different voting system here, as you know. Still, we had all these Independents backed by a groundswell of community supporr, successfully challenge in safe seats. Perhaps that is possible in the UK too?

And here in the US???

I tried to write something sensible or hopeful in response, Martha, but couldn’t think of anything. Change is being driven by Independents around whom individual communities can rally.

There isn’t anything sensible or hopeful. Basically, we’re fucked. Too many of individuals around whom communities rally are evil and driven by greed and lust for power. 😦

Your lovely poem says you’re hopeful. I hope all works out. Hope your TL is doing well. Take Care

I am hopeful, Anne. I do not envy anyone in government now though.
My TL is still in hospital, but hopefully not for too much longer. He has been getting excellent care.

I hope you are indeed seeing the dawning of a new day for your parliament. Here in the US, the darkness continues to descend.

Perhaps people will reject that darkness again, Liz?

I think the majority of good people do reject that darkness–they’re not the ones with money and power.

It was a victory for climate change, the environment and for women especially. Pity the died in the wool Nationals still hang around the north coast like a bad smell. Now they have a reason not to do anything so it’s business as usual for them

I hope the Nats don’t maintain that arrogance, and north coast members put pressure on the federal leadership. Barnaby Joyce, Matt Canavan and Keith Pitt have an inflated sense of their own importance IMO.

Trouble is they have no one with intelligence. Littleproud should topple the Beetrooter if they have some sense

Darren Chester is a decent man with a good track record. I hope he nominates. I thought I should check whether there were any developments and the SMH has broken the news that Mr Chester will challenge for the leadership.
