Whoever said dogs give unconditional love, never had a Finnish Lapponian Dog (Finnish Lapphund as we know them in the English-speaking world) or a Finnish Spitz. Anyway, here is my cartoon celebrating unconditional love between (wo)man and dog. The drawing needs work, but you’ll get the general idea. Life is never boring with this pair.
Reflections of An Untidy Mind 
I have a good friend who used to own basenjis (I’m spelling that wrong), and she said what liked best about them was their independence. She would get a brief hello when she came in the door, but then the dogs would return to their naps. They only acted affectionate when it was suppertime!

Haha, yes, my dogs are very similar in character to the Basenji. I like their independence too, quite cat-like in many ways. You had someone comment on your recent post about how her cat rejects her. I found that a little funny, because I thought, yep, that is just what cat’s do. 🙂
