My Precious

Raining cats and dogs.

I take every drop of rain I can get at the moment. We are expecting dry times and hot weather ahead due to the influence of an expected super El Nino. My dogs however, take each day as it comes.

Fynn is not a happy chappy when it rains. Why “go” outside when it rains when the hall wall is a perfectly suitable alternative? He’s so precious. Did I tell you the story of how we had to rush him to the vet earlier this year because he drank too much and nearly died of water toxicity? Clearly, drinking water is not a problem, but standing in it is.

Don’t make me!

Makea, on the other hand, loves to chill in the rain. She also loves to come inside and rub herself dry on the lounge chair. She’s so precious.

This is the life!

Ama fares well. She is perky despite some arthritis and continues to surprise us. The other day I glanced out the window at a man walking his dog past the house. Dogs have a sixth sense about how to embarrass their owners. His dog chose that moment to crap on my garden verge. The poor man looked toward the window and saw that I had observed this indiscretion. So he signalled to me for a bag so he could clean it up. That was nice of him. As I opened the door to pass him the bag, Ama flew past me and attacked his dog. She moved fast for an old girl. I don’t know who was more embarrassed. I’m so precious. Ama is a little cow.

Take care, everyone, and remember that life is precious.

Kind Regards.
Tracy.

My Little Cheat

I was writing my blog and turned around to see Makea Nurse Fluffy. When the doctor takes my blood pressure, I picture Nurse Fluffy in my mind and my BP is perfect. My True Love tells me I’m cheating. I should cheat/treat myself more often.

May your heart’s desire be kind and fluffy.

Regards,

Tracy.

All My Trials – Triennial Dog Bath

G’day, Readers. I hope you are all well and keeping busy. It seems I have lost the ability and will to blog at 3am. These days, 5pm seems to be my bedtime. It is all a bit strange really. I’m sure I have mentioned this before but it has been a long time between blog posts and I am sure you would have forgotten.

I’ve been watching a doctor show on the tele. The head doc is rude and his offsiders are pretty FITH. But they know their stuff. Amyloidosis, anyone? Since I am a real hypochondriac, it passes the time pleasantly. When I take my long list of ailments to my doctor, I get sent home with a fact sheet on menopause. What a cheek! Despite this, I am happy. A sure sign that I have really lost it.

However, continuing with all things positive, I thought I would overshare my dogs first bath in about three years. I bitch about my phone camera, but it sure does take nice dog photos. Makea had her bath last week when I was sleeping, so it was just Fynnie and Ama that faced today’s particular torture.

Actually, Ama was a little champion. She always is.

Plus, a well placed distraction.

Say cheese.

Excuse me!

Hope your day brings you a little slice of happiness.

Kind Regards.
Tracy.

Eating Her Heart Out

Welcome to my regular Friday song/tune day, ladies and gentlemen, where I pick a piece of music that reflects my mood or the times, to share with you.

What a week it has been! Due to a series of unfortunate events, Makea dog found herself in a room alone with a lidless bin of dog kibble. As a result, she also found herself at the emergency vet for several days with an intestinal blockage and a gelatinous mass of dog kibble crushing her vital organs. Yep, she had bloat which is a serious medical emergency. After two days on IV fluids, she is home again and that mass is on the move. At least it was. I won’t be resting easy until she is back to her normal barky self. Touch wood, she has avoided complex and risky stomach surgery.
