A wonderful thing about spring is the abundance of birds, great shot of the gang gang. Back from a jaunt up Mauao and the tuis are having a ball with all nectar about, I’m sure they were drunk.

I have heard about the tuis proclivity for drunkenness before, Suzanne. I am seeing fewer birds this spring. It is a real worry.

The gang gang cockatoo is Canberra’s faunal emblem, Jude. Unfortunately they are now endangered so we see them less often.

Are they in zoos? Hard to believe. They are endangered and a lot of zoos have conservation programs so that makes sense.
