Day 11 — Share Your Music: 30 Days, 30 Songs.
This song challenge in which I am participating, is proving provocative — provocative in so much as some songs I thought I really liked, I have begun to question. One song I have loved for a long time is All My Trials (writer unknown). It has been covered many times, including famously by Joan Baez. It is a beautiful song that draws attention to social injustice and inequality. However, it is too late and I do mind, so I am laying that song to rest, at least for now. But I think I would like to hear this song one last time. I have chosen the Judith Durham version.
Sarah at Art Expedition is hosting 30 Days, 30 Songs for the month of June. You can see her latest post here. It is not too late to join in the challenge. Casual players welcome.
Kind Regards.
Tracy.
Also joining in the Ragtag Daily Prompt — Lost.
I adore this song. Satchmo’s voice attaches to my heart. Hubby and I were in Santa Barbara, CA for the wedding of our younger son. It was our anniversary and we were eating at a great restaurant when this song came on. And my tears came on. (Here they are again.)

It is lovely to be so moved by a piece of music. What a loss it would be if there was no music in this world.

Oops, just realized that the first song that played here was “A Wonderful World,” Louis Armstrong. This is the song I commented about, above. “All My Trials” also piques memories – I was in the streets back then, protesting injustice. Not much has changed all these years later.

Sorry Sharon. I didn’t realise that my link was to a set of songs that cycled through.

Doris Day and her “Que Sera, Sera” were my favorite as a little girl. I still find myself humming the tune.

That is a great song. I should sing it more often. It might calm me down. 🙂

Such a beautiful song, Tracy! I can see why you’ve chosen it for the challenge. And you’ve mentioned a very funny thing here – I too have discovered that the more I think about the songs I know and love, the more I begin to question them. I’ve been making a list for next week, choosing songs of which I knew I loved them, had a listen and was wondering what exactly made me feel this way, at least with some of the songs. I recall my feelings from being a teenager when I heard them but they don’t seem to appeal to me in exactly the same way as they used to.

Thanks Sarah. You are organised. I operate on a just in time basis. 🙂 I’m exhausted! Yes, the re-assessment of songs means I have fewer to choose from. Agggh.

Actually I’m anything but organized under normal circumstances! It’s just that I kind of panicked and thought ‘let’s give this to me new concept of writing and prescheduling posts for a change’. 😂 Not sure it works though since I will be out of posts after Sunday if I don’t get my behind in front of my computer soon. 😉

I panic every day, Sarah. 🙂 I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted!

LOL! I know the feeling, Tracy!
And please, don’t feel like you have to join in every day if you’re feeling exhausted! As you say – casual players are welcome! 😉 If I hadn’t brought this challenge to life myself, I would probably have dropped out after a week or so! Not that I can’t come up with more music – I could have this challenge running for a year! – but I’m so not used to daily blogging. I’m way behind with catching up with all the blogs I read and totally feel bad for it!

I love this song too Tracy.

Thank you, Dominique. I’ve just learnt a lesson not to include a link to a video that cycles through a set of songs. Glad you liked whatever was playing at the time. 🙂 Regards. Tracy.
