Bird poetry for nature lovers.
Romeo, Gigolo, Maestro.
On the platform, he pauses, a picture of concentration.
Ready for a grand performance. Ready for his paramour
and Superb Wren ovulation.

The wrens have been getting frisky. It is what they do.
Kind Regards.
Tracy.
What a fine specimen!

I love the poem but somehow the bird reminds me of Teddy… his posture, his alertness, I dunno…

Perhaps because both Teddy and the little bird like attention?

I can see how he’d attract the lady wrens. Every wren crazy ’bout a sharp-feathered male. (Or something like that . . . )

Definitely something like that, Liz. I wasn’t sure whether the display was for me or the lady wrens.

He really was. I was quite struck by his stance and carrolling.

I love them, but sadly we haven’t seen any in our garden for some months. Perhaps the noisy miners have seen them off.

Jane, I see them less and less here too. Suburbia doesn’t do them any favours. They love overgrown areas around lakes and rivers.
Btw, I thought of you when I read that story about the young lady who drowned when the car was washed off the causeway. Such a tragedy and once again unnecessary blame is cast on the victim(s).

That was the same creek I drove through, Tracy, but not the same crossing. What a dreadful thing to happen. I feel so sorry for her family and the other passengers. I know from personal experience that it’s impossible to see the water at night until it’s too late.

Thanks, Yvette. Our record breaking rains are responsible for the verdant green in the background.
