Day 7 — Share Your Music: 30 Days, 30 Songs!
My husband is a few years younger than me. Not by much, but I have to wait for him to retire. Sometimes it seems like the age difference is much larger. I suspect he didn’t listen to much commercial radio when he was a young child. He also spent some of his youth in another country so there is a cultural gap song-wise that occasionally needs to be bridged.
He caught up with one of my favourite songs recently when we watched the BBC mini-series, River. Have you seen that show? It is wonderful and completely tragic. It featured Tina Charles’ 70s hit, I Love to Love.
Check it out. The song and the mini-series. I recommend both.
Sarah at Art Expedition is hosting 30 Days, 30 Songs for the month of June. You can see her latest post here. It is not too late to join in the challenge. Everyone welcome.
Kind Regards.
Tracy
I haven’t seen the show but I remember the song very well. It reminds me of K-Tel albums 🙂

Yes, very sweet. But I was young at the time and loved it.

No offense, but that’s one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen, outfit and all. I vaguely remember having an outfit like this only a skirt.

Classic 70s fashion for Aussies and Brits. 😉

And I love to listen to this so-oong! Oh, I love to love… Haha! Thanks so much for sharing this song, Tracy! It’s such a great song! And I loved ‘River’!! An excellent mini-series, and the actors are brilliant!😄

I love how ‘River’ made it completely acceptable to be nostalgic about a song from my childhood. 🙂 And yes, the actors are brilliant.

Tina Charles has a powerful voice but who designed the set? Looks like extruded waste material – she deserved better. Sounds better when looking elsewhere.

I try to use official videos where I can so I don’t breach copyright, Sharon. Sometimes they are not the best though. 🙂

I understand, and that’s a wise decision – my criticism wasn’t of you but of the director or producer. (I can’t tell who was responsible.)

I knew that. 🙂

I have not seen the mini-series, but my mother used to listen to this song not stop along with “I will survive”. This brings back so many nice memories. Thanks for sharing.

It was a great hit and popular across generations, I remember grooving along to it 🙂

There were probably quite a few blokes dancing because their wives and girlfriends required it. Poor souls. 🙂

Loved River. I watched it a while ago and I’d forgotten about the song.

So did I, Su. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed a TV program quite so much in ages.
I wish my husband had taken the hint. What groover, he ain’t. 🙂

The two lead actors were great, and it was very well-written.
