My time flies when one becomes the latest keyboard warrior. More letters have flown off, winging on a slow breeze rather than darting quickly to strike their target. At the pace I’m keeping, the road will be built and trees chopped down before I strike my final cursive blow. Weeding also bounds along at a more rapid pace given the procrastination factor. Work on the home garden continues when the park care weeding does not provide sufficient distraction from the sardonic writing.
At one of my group weeding sessions, I had to flee due to a medical tech malfunction and in our haste to leave, my camera fell out of my tool bucket and smashed. My True Love made it up to me by buying me a new camera. Given I haven’t been quite in my right mind, I decided on a camera that I thought my True Love would like – you know, in the event that I drop off my perch, it wouldn’t be a waste of money.
Anyway, anyway, I’ve taken up backyard photography again while I work out how to operate this new camera. Also, my True Love tells me I am not allowed to put the new one in the tool bucket.
I’m using weedy native colonisers to enrich the soil in the backyard and as protection for some of the more difficult to establish local natives. I’ve discovered that it is far easier to establish new plants in soil that already has a good ground cover rather than in bare dirt. I suppose all you gardeners already knew that.

The wrens like all the weedy colonisers, eg native cudweed and crumbweed.

Anyway, anyway, anyway, gotta fly.

Take care, everyone, and see you again when next procrastination strikes.
Kind Regards.
Tracy.
You and your new camera seem to be getting along. Your bird images are amazing. Take care.

Thanks, Anne. Incredibly, the camera does all the work. It keeps like a mule though as it so heavy. I will build up some upper arm strength carrying this thing.

Enjoy building that arm strength! I’d like to see more of your pictures.

The weather seems to be cooling down so hopefully we’ll get out a bit more.

Great camera work, especially the second shot with the wings outstretched.

Thanks, Vicki. The camera with the telephoto lens kicks like a mule, hence I was able to get that shot, ie. purely accidental, but I will improve.

Thanks, Lou. It is a bit of a mess. My TL keeps lobbying for a path through the middle of it!

Well, heck! WP decided to let me write something very nice and then tell me my comment could not be posted. Grr-rrrr.
Anyway, the gist was that these photos are beautiful. Look at the bokeh–it’s lovely! That and your garden.

Thank you, Lois. Much appreciated. Perhaps your first comment arrived when I was fixing up a few typos and so WP had a conniption…

Hey Tracy Good to see you. Sorry about your camera, you’ll get used to the new one, the wrens are lovely.
Ground covers are good for sure as are pioneer plants except for the mess they leave when they die off. The garden looks good. Hope you can “Resist path man” Next he’ll want a patch of grass to mow 😂
Thanks for joining in 😀

The path guy bought me a camera and himself a manual push mower. He is mowing to his heart’s content at the park. Landcarers are not able to use power tools on public land. We shall overcome…. 🤣. And yep, the annual weedy natives are very messy.

Is his mower one with a lot of rotating blades at the front. We had one when I was small and loved trying to use it. It made a great sound and Dad had a catcher for it too. It was yellow I think it was a Pope

Yes it is. TL bought the catcher too. I think the brand is Fiskar. It works well. Not for really long grass though.

Oh not not long grass or tough grasses

Thanks, Liz. We’ve had lots of little birds visiting but they are still too quick for the new camera. But it is fun observing their antics.

I hope you are well, Tracy. Those are lovely photos, I would say on par with your TL’s clicks.
More muscles to my keyboard warrior.
How’s Ama?

Thanks, Punam. I am fortunate to have much to photograph in my backyard at the moment.
Ama seems strangely okay. I have left three messages for the specialist vet to call me back but so far nothing…

You are welcome, Tracy. You are one lucky lass to have such a picturesque backyard.
Good to know Ama is okay. I hope she gets more time with you.

Looks like you and your camera already have become great friends! But I hope Ama is feeling better! She is not that old, so hopefully she will go on loving and being loved for a long time! Your birds are gorgeous – makes me long for our Spring birds to arrive. Most of them come in April and the rest in May. Wish I could portray them as good as you do…

That last shot is something else. I turned it to the left and it reminded me of my recent fall. Imaging the little bird running on a plank! 😄

I bruised my rib cage. Which is a pain in the … ribcage. Coughing and hiccupping is majorly painful as is bending down and turning when lying flat. But after 2 weeks I’m finally seeing an improvment. Very stupid thing to do. Don’t fall.

What a pain for you. Glad you are getting better. I fall over quite a lot unfortunately. I’m due.
