Welcome to my regular Friday song/tune day, ladies and gentlemen, where I pick a piece of music that reflects my mood or the times, to share with you.

Think first, speak later. That sums up my week. So I’ll keep it short, literally, with Six Bagatelles for Woodwind Quintet. Written by György Ligeti and performed by Danish woodwind group, CARION,  Enjoy.

Please be kind, everyone.

Regards.
Tracy.

  1. ‘Think first, speak later ! Oops – my biggest downfall . . . altho’ having reached the last quarter of my time on this earth my inborn tendency for immediate expression always has landed me in hot water !
Absolutely love the music and its performance tho’ at just the current moment rings more mellow tones within me . . . am more for strings than woodwinds this morning . . . 🙂 !. . .

      1. *big smile* I was most happy with both the music and the presentation – actually reposted to quite a few . . . normally I let the blogger see how I presented it but could not find your email . . .

  2. This is such a fun piece – I seldom listen to Woodwind pieces and this is such a fun one!
Love your opening image as well – any hints as to what it might be?

    1. Hello, Ju-lyn. Thanks for visiting and sharing in the music with me. For some reason I have quite a hankering for bassoon at the moment. Go figure.
My image is a twirl derived from a mushroom. It made sense at the time, lol.

      1. He is rather. He is studying music at the University of Arizona in Tucson. It’s an unusual instrument to simply pick up – but he did.

      1. 😀 Always something new to learn, but I think you did well with one layer too! How are you doing down there now? I’ll have to go visiting, because the reader never is enough. Wishing you a fine weekend.

      2. Glad you are enjoying your mosaic! Not doing much photography either. Lost the joy of it. I am just waiting for the start in my glass house. Everything is waiting…Otherwise we are all well. My mother’s remainig brother died last month, so now they are all gone. Feels sad that the last link in that chain is broken.
My father was vaccinated now , so I can stop worrying about him.
But I should not complain. The state of planet Earth is not good. I am doing my best in my little world and have to be content with that. I have stopped listening to the news.
I wrote to Sir David Attenborough to express my gratitude( and the whole world’s gratitude) – and he sent a warm letter back. ❤💚💛. I put it in his book by my bed. About his life on our planet. An astonishing life and an admirable man.

      3. Ann-Christine, sending a virtual hug your way. I’m sorry for your loss. It really has been a devastating 12 months for you. I quite understand how this might dull your enthusiasm for photography and also a need to have some quite time for yourself in your greenhouse and on your walks.
I am limiting my exposure to environmental news too. It is deeply depressing and I need to stay focussed on changing my behaviour to lower my environmental footprint rather than giving up entirely. Sir David Attenborough is such an inspiration. In the days before the internet, he was our main source of information on the natural wonders of our world.

      4. Thank you, Tracy, for your kind words! And without compassionare people and blogging, life would have been much worse, really. Thank you for your kind support. Sir David is really the greatest inspiration, and I never thought about what you put so well into words – on him being the main source of information before – he was. ♥ Good luck with lowering your environmental footprint. At least one thing that covid made me do…

  3. The Carion Woodwind Quintette fills me with awe. Their choreography was electric and their performances were surprising. Thank you Tracy for this selection.
