That feeling you have when you discover your hearing aid is missing after an afternoon of planting in the garden.

Followed by a feeling of relief when the hearing aid is finally located caught in the zipper of your coat.
I think I’ll buy a couple of extra plants to celebrate my good fortune.
Take care, everyone, or savour the silence.
Kind Regards.
Tracy.
Wow Tracy, that is so lucky

Yes, I dreaded the prospect of digging up those plants to see if I could find it in that muddy soil.

Oh crumbs. When I reach that point, I’m sure it’ll happen to me all the time.

It’s actually not the first time it has happened to me. I lost one at my Landcare site about a year ago. My TL found it by walking all over the site until he picked up its signal on my phone. By some miracle he spotted it. Luckily he is colour blind. I understand that colour blind people have very good night vision.

Well, that’s good to know. Every disability has its plus side!

Long, long ago in a land not so far away, my friend lost her hearing aid at my grandson’s Bar Mitzvah celebration. The next morning, we were opening trash bags to find the little sucker, but this fairy tale didn’t end too well. We didn’t find it. What can I say about having to go through trash after a party! You are so lucky. Enjoy your new plants!

Gosh, I really for you and your friend, Anne. What a smelly job and to no avail. Hearing aids are also expensive so it is the last thing anyone needs to lose on top of the costs associated with a big family celebration.

Traaacy!! Aren’t you lucky! – Now if you’d never lost the device at all you wouldn’t appreciate that! Celebrate with a few more flowers!

Well done! I lost one that I put VERY CAREFULLY AWAY due to feedback issues while traveling. This is how I find out its time to update my aids. Enjoy listening to your plants!

Thanks, I will, Steph. I wonder if hearing aids are only meant to last a couple of years because people lose them so often?

Very lucky indeed, Tracy.
Love the photo of flowers in the ear. Very creative.
(one of the first things my brother’s new partner said on entering my apartment last Sunday was how quiet it was. I love the sound of silence, although I hear the birds often enough).

Thank you, Vicki. I used a Pexel photo. I thought it covered both the dismay and the relief. 🙂. I like silence too because my dogs are super noisy. I’ve only ever had noisy dogs. Probably says more about me than them. I definitely need my aids hearing little birds.

I held my breath and thought, ‘Ouch, that’s going to cost.’ Luckily, the money went on something fun, like plants. My ones were too expensive; the hearing aids, not the plants, though they’re getting pricey too.

Spec Savers have affordable aids here. I think Apple are going to make aids soon. Some audiologists charge over $10k for supply, fitting and fine-tuning aids. It is no wonder people choose silence.
