A late entry for Patti’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge – Empty Space. I think the emphasis is on negative space in the photo below. Close enough. Naturally, this photo was taken by my True Love.
Into the Empty
Seeking the apex of all that life has to offer.
A chance to thrive, a chance to fall.
Thunder beats a primal rhythm.
Stretch your wings and ride the wild sky.

The queen ants fly into the wide blue yonder.
Take care, everyone.
Kind Regards.
Tracy.
Beautiful, words and insect.

What a great shot, Tracy. Your TL should be congratulated.
I wonder what the next challenge will be?

Thank you. I always look forward to the new challenge on Sundays. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of time to put in an entry these days.

Always happy to see you joining us Tracy – hope your lack of time is due to something you love! Please let YTL know we loved his image!

Thanks, Tina. We are both preoccupied with our habit restoration projects. A bit too much actually but sometimes our photos of that process coincide with the Lens-Artists challenge. 🙂

It is perilous but rewarding for the lucky few, Dries. The joint is packed here as it has been a good few years for the ants. There were a few hungry birds hanging out waiting for dinner!

I must admit that I enjoy coming across an erupting nest of ants or termites when we’re out in the wild exactly because there are usually so many birds around hoping for an easy and juicy meal!

And a great poem to mimic the photo. Minimalist photos are so impactful, as you show, Tracy. You and your true love make a great team.

Thanks, Donna. I’ve learnt a lot from my TL and our children. I am so fortunate that they are such curious individuals.

Isn’t it nice when we have people we can bounce off of, and make us better?

It is. I hate to think what I would be like without this particular family!

Thank you, Ann. It is hard to take such nice photos when ant family is so intent on protecting their queens. 🙂 We wear long pants, lol.

I love the symbiosis of image & word (of TL & you) – the juxtaposition of Empty with thunder, thriving, wild sky. It got my heart beating fast!
