Bird poetry – a pandemic distraction. Try it. Create a pingback to this post for the bird of your choice. Really awful poetry welcome. Good poetry welcome too.

Golden Whistlers

Shadow dancer rimmed in gold.
Flamboyant, rakish, debonair.
As he skips from tree to tree,
eats a snack for energy.

Winsome in her feathered brown,
flaps and flutters and larks around.
Never stills, draws no breath ‘fore
she blasts. Shrill. Loud.

When at last, the two larks meet,
in shadows soft of scented gums, and
as wind whistles through the leaves,
so begins a new love serenade.

It was a perfect day today, for me at least.

Kind Regards.
Tracy.

      1. It’s like my books, Tracy. they might actually be good, they might not be good, but the point is, I had the great experience of writing them. Anyway, as for your poetry, so far it hasn’t been bad poetry at all. πŸ™‚

    1. Well, I can’t write poetry either, Sarah, but it hasn’t stopped me. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I can hear many thinking that they wish it would. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I amuse myself. But seriously, some things need poetry written about them. πŸ™‚ Like birds. πŸ™‚ You could do it much better than me, Sarah. You just need to give yourself permission.
