Welcome to my regular Friday song/tune day, ladies and gentlemen, where I pick a piece of music that reflects my mood or the times, to share with you.

I had picked a song for Friday but I decided to release it early (see here). So now I have had to come up with a song in a hurry. In that earlier post, for the first time I spoke about my age, kinda. But you probably had already guessed my approximate vintage because the clue is in my name. Tracies are of a certain era, aren’t they? In my experience, and I should know, they’re normally born in the 1960s.

Here is an old photo of my younger sister and me riding Lightning.

So back to us Tracies. We even have a song named after us. It is called Tracy and it is sung by The Cufflinks. Note the correct spelling. Shall we hear it?

Thanks for listening. But there’s more, Su from Zimmerbitch has also chimed in with one of my favourite songs (see here).

Take care, everyone.

Kind Regards.
Tracy.

    1. The one regret in my life is that I was super mean to my little sister, Judy. I was such a bitch and I never seemed to grow out of it. Life for a middle child can be very difficult. It is no wonder my sister doesn’t speak to me anymore.

  1. The sixties were a very fraught time for the teenaged me. Aware of many things but not really understanding many of them like the Vietnam War. Fortunately many cheerful songs were on the radio hit parade among them the Cufflinks singing “Tracy!” This song sent me into a reverie about the music of the sixties. So much music to think about not all of it cheerful. ‘’ Where have all the flowers gone?’’ Peter, Paul and Mart. My suggestion is a Beach Boys cover of the song “Barbara Ann” on YouTube. Tracy you did stir up some dusty memories! Thank you!
I am a big Abba fan too

  2. I loved that photo! Were you the one in the front, or the back? And yeah, Tracy was a popular name in the 60s…and I remember dancing to the song “Tracy” when I was about 13 or so…..

  3. Goodness, that was a blast from the past! I had forgotten all about that particular song.
Great post about the vaccine, Tracy. I haven’t had mine yet. We are off to Sydney to see La Traviata this week, so will most likely have it when we return.
